Parent Portal Information

The Childress ISD parent Portal is available for all parents and students wishing to see their grades, attendance, and assignments, along with class schedules and their teachers for this school year. To access this information, click on the red button on the bottom right side of our web page called PARENT PORTAL. From there, you may click on the here option under new user. Then create your username and password, along with your email address. Then you must pick on security question on the next page. Then finally, you must enter a Student Portal ID and birthday of your student. The Student Portal ID is information that your student should receive by September 19th. If for some reason you do not get that information, please call the campus office to obtain that information.

There has been some confusion on attendance with the parent portal and we would like to explain how it works. When a teacher counts a student unexcused absent, no matter which way they do it, and you as a parent know it was for either a Dr. appointment or a excused absence, it will send you an alert notifying you of that unexcused absence. Normally the next day a Childress ISD staff member will modify that attendance to your student and when the system updates, the unexcused absence is fixed to either excused absence or extra curricular absence. That will change in the calendar view of attendance, but it will not send out another alert nor delete the alert that was sent previously. I myself have asked the same questions when I get an attendance alert and the following day it is usually fixed. The only time that it may take longer than the next day is Friday attendance is usually fixed on Monday, or we are short handed in the offices due to sickness and that would take a couple of more days to modify.
